Let's begin!

Original Cap.
I use this solid color (#532519) as a background.
I usually cut caps with a hard brush, erasing the parts that I don't want.

Sharpen as you like. I use smart sharpen with this settings:
-Sharpen:
·Amount: 200%
·Radius: 0,3 pixels.
·Remove: Gaussian Blur.
And then pick on More Accurate.

-Shadow:
·Fade Amount: 65%
·Tonal Width: 25%
·Radius: 55 pixels.

-Highlight:
·Fade Amount: 100%
·Tonal Width: 70%
·Radius: 35 pixels.

And then, if I still think it's too sharpened, I lower the opacity and blur some parts.
Lighten your icon. I use curves layer.

It needs some contrast, so I add this gradient map, set to soft light.

Texture time!
Take this texture and set it to lighten, 50% opacity.
Then duplicate the texture and set it to screen, 23%

Then take this one by pandavirus and set it to soft light.

Now this one to screen and duplicate it to pop out the colors.

And this one to screen too.

Add a little bit more of vibrance to the icon.
Vibrance +47.

And now, text.
I used Xtreem Fat font. Write "fire" with this color (#fabe97) and turn it a little fit until you're satisfied.
Duplicate it and replace the color for this one (#d37335). Move it until you have a thin "shadow".
Now write "blood" with the same font with this color (#e99d9d). Lower the opacity at 42%.
Duplicate it, put the opacity to 100% and change the color to this red one (#b01212).
Move it to create the same thin "shadow", and you're done!

And let's start with the second.

Original Cap.
Crop and sharpen it. I also used a little bit of Topaz Clean because I felt like it.
Lighten the cap with a curves layer.
Make a new vibrance layer:
·Vibrance: +100.
·Saturation: +36.

Make a new gradient map on black and white set to soft light, 25%.

Make a new color fill with this color (#183de0) set to screen, 8% opacity.

Add this texture, change the color with Hue/Saturation:
·Hue: +180 and lower the opacity to 79%.

Make a new color fill layer with this color (#183847), set to soft light, 27% opacity.
Duplicate it and set to screen, 19% opacity.
Make another vibrance layer, vibrance +100
Make a new color fill layer with this color (#3b1c6a) set to darken, 11% opacity.

Add some contrast making a new black and white gradient map, set to soft light.
Now make a new Selective Coloring layer, with these settings:
·Reds:
-100/+100/+100/+90
·Blues:
+4/+100/-48/-58
Neutrals:
+1/+2/-10/+12

Add this texture set to screen. Duplicate it and set to soft light.

And now add a blue blub, set to normal, 39% opacity.

And you're done!

Also, kirtash_girl asked about my fav textures. So here they are!
Sadly, I seem I can NEVER save textures credits. I'm so sorry! If anyone knows who are the makers,
please let me know and I'll edit the post!!

These are very simple, but they're so fucking useful!
I usually use the first on screen to add light, and the second one in soft light to add contrast.
I usually use the other two on screen and soft light, depending on the icon.

Light textures to add color to the icon. Screen is your best friend!

Grunge textures make the world go round! I always use them set to screen.

I use these when I need more green on the icon. I really love them. Soft light forever and ever! :)

Purely decorative. I use these when I feel the icon needs something else.

Lately, I love stock textures!
(These are large. You're warned. Click right, open in a new tab)

And tha's it! (For now)
I hope I can don't go lazy finish the rest of tutorials this week.
You know what to do if you have any doubt!
Thanks for reading this boring thing :)
