I glued the two top pieces of wood together and cut the basic shape of my guitar top out this last week. I wanted to do more, but Mr. Shima is busy preparing for a blue grass festival that is happening this weekend. I can't wait to start really working on the thing!!
This whole week has been freakin' ups and downs-- sometimes completely simultaneous. I got completely lost on the way to a meeting yesterday partially do to bad directions and partially do to bad judgment. My mind just isn't working correctly lately. This cold will not go away, either-- and I think my brain being super slow is a result of that. Today's weather is also in a similar fashion... it was RAINING... and I mean raining-- like for Toyama we had rain, which is nuts. The rain was so strong and hard it sounded like rocks and junk hitting the window. There were a couple of times when you could see like waterfalls falling from the sky- the clouds skipping the whole rain drop process. Anyways, that's over and it's a perfectly sunny day right now! So strange... This cold has kept me from Akage for a week now... I'm hoping to go there this weekend to try to record drums and stuff like that.
Last night I went out to eat Ramen with Miya, and she drove me back to my car which was in her work parking lot. She gasped because her co-workers' cars were there-- like 7 of them... and it was like time for them to get off work. So basically 7 ladies that she worked with were approaching the parking lot that the two of us were parked in and she was saying 'what should we do what should we do'... then suddenly there were 7 japanese ladies standing outside of her car looking in at the two of us like it was a zoo exhibit or something. It was hilarious, and Miya was so embarassed. Then I said we should probably get out of the car and say hi, as a seemingly eternal amount of time had passed since her coworkers had been staring into the car at the two of us. So I basically introduced myself to 7 ladies whos faces were completely covered in the shadow of the night while standing next to Miya who was completely cracking up in embarassment. It was fun and completely embarassing.
Also, the other night, I went to one of my students' houses because his cousin is my friend, Yukari, and she invited me over there. It was pretty funny to see them all together as their personalities are so different... and their house is SO big! It's like friggin' Toyama, man, the country of giant houses. There are some houses that are seriously like castle sized here. They are too nice, too! It's like I feel like I couldn't repay Toyama in a lifetime if I tried...
I took some pictures
