AOL Gets In Bed With Google

America Online and Google have signed a $1 billon deal. This deal is expected to give a serious boost to AOL and parent company Time Warner. This is all just part of a continuing industry battle for more email users.

I personally have mixed feelings about AOL. I used to be on the pay version of AOL for about six months due to a free trial offer. I spent a lot of time in their War On Terror chatroom but I eventually got tired of them. Why? The subscription-based version of AOL sucks, that's why. There were too many security loopholes and if I ever had a problem, I would inevitably get some Pakistani with a thick accent whenever I called tech support. They had something called AOL wallet. It was like a cheap knock-off of PayPal and I wasn't about to put any of my hard-earned scratch in that thing. To be honest, I'm liking the free version of AOL a whole lot better. And I'm sure Google can show them what serious fuckin' internet is all about.

The internet business wars are heating up. The winner is us.
