Just finished lunch with colleagues and wow, I have a long list of things to get for my bb! Yes, I am stepping into the last trimester! Can't wait to see bb again next week at the 28th week review. =)
A note to myself, I must:
1) Pack the room, kitchen and store room to make space for bb stuff. Must be determine to throw unnecessary stuff instead of cluttering all and forget about them for years.
2) Start shopping for bb stuff. Cot, bottles, changing station, carrier, bath basin, etc... I can't imagine how to have everything in the room.
3) Remember to submit maternity leave application after CNY.
We went to IKEA and bought a nice cupboard for Elma, our maid who will be coming in on Sunday. =) Feel very sorry we didn't have a proper room for her and bb, but for the time being, we will let bb sleep with us and so Elma is spared from waking up at night. Even the maid agency thought we are really good to the maid, haha. Actually I prefer to let them have their own room, I know myself well, I fall sick too easily without proper rest. But, if eventually it doesn't work well for me and my career, we will see how...
Having been reading up, certain things I hope to enforce in child raising:
1) Schooling from as young as possible. Though we have maid and my mil, I will want her to attend half-day child care, for her to pick up socialising and other skills. There is always a limit to what we at home can teach her.
2) No TV till 3 years old. Strictly. So many literature and real life examples on how it affects brain development! I mean, it is for bb's good, for life. To substitute that, we will buy toys, books and activities for her to work on. Don't think watching TV with maid will be good for both of them, right?
3) No Sweets for as long as possible. Same reviews about 2). I know I have a sweet tooth, but I seriously did not take much sweets when I was a child.(ok, my family was too poor also..) I hope others around her can understand and help us on this.
I know I will be fairly strict, though not the fiery kind. keke. Fortune tellers said so too, but kids will be closer to me, haha! NNNBB to Big 95. =P
