the Madness deepens

yes it's true what you've heard. i've fallen even deeper into the dark insidious world of DDR. The thing is i don't even care, in fact i'm enjoying it. i've just participated in my first DDR tournament. Russian Mike and I worked all week on a double freestyle to perform today and it went off beautifully. we both practiced at the U of R arcade machine because it takes tokens which we can get for ten cents each at the clubhouse on sundays. we played it almost every round in which we could get on the machine much to the dismay of the people watching. the Friday before the Tournament there was this thing at the clubhouse involving the channel 13 news filming about the tournament the next day. So they invited people over with the promise of freeplay. the catch was that it was from 5-7 in the morning. so of course i went. how could i not do something so incredibly insane given the opportunity. thursday night i couldn't get to sleep naturally so i just stayed up and headed over at 4:30. we got to play a few rounds, there were tons of people there, and the news reporter guy was a bloody retard. we went to breakfast afterwards: the mikes, jake, shelly, leah, and I all went to Perkins. then i headed to class where i promptly fell asleep. This morning was great, i got up and my car wouldn't start so i couldn't get it out of the way for the plow people. but luckily my mom was around so she gave me a ride over. Russian Mike and I got our costumes all set and covered them with our jackets so we could reveal them later. We settled in to watch the start of the tourney. when it got to be our turn. we were psyched, a little too psyched maybe. We were doing a freestyle to a song called "TwinBee", so naturally we had black and yellow shirts, complete with fairy wings and large B's on our shirts. We ripped off our jackets at the start of the song and jumped on the pad. then disaster struck, i fucked up the whole beginning be being off beat, mike played to the crowd too much which caused him to fail, we missed our pad switch, and i screwed up on the kazoo ending. but the bottom line is i had a hell of a lot of fun so it was worth it. there is a video of our freestyle out there and when i get a hold of a copy you can be sure it will be linked up here for you guys.
