crazy mornings lead to crazy articles
Okay, this situation is kind of weird, and I'm on the fence about the response that Harry Connick Jr. had, so I wanted to get some opinions here. This article (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts946) it about when Connick went to an Australian show and was offended by a black face act. But apparently Connick also pretended to be a black preacher on MADtv. Is he a hypocrit?
I want to say no, because black face is specifically made to defame blacks, while making fun of southern preachers when you're in really good hair and make up isn't coming from the same place of ignorance. I want to say Connick isn't a hypocrit because the sketch he did was thought through, involved at least some brain power, and involves a pretty sweet make up job. But then again, I'm on the fence because he is still a portraying a black person to make fun of black culture... so I don't know...
