First off, I would like to point out that anyone who does not like Valentine's Day must be bitter and single.
Now that that's out of the way, let's see what happened today. Ryn gave me a gift bag with balloons and filled with decorative tissue paper and a video Ipod! It also has a stuffed pink monkey attached to it. Now I can watch awesome stuff wherever I go. This is actually something I consider an unnecessary luxury, but that never stopped me from strongly- no, desperately wanting it. Because these things are expensive and really not all that useful, I never could bring myself to ask for one. My life is filled with a lot of downtime, however, and I would be forced to agree that my new gadget will improve my quality of life by a large percentage. This proportion demands extremely complex calculations, of course, involving precisely how much of my life I spend staring at windows, walls, and food, as well as how reliable my source of downloadable video entertainment is. Suffice it to say that the utility of being able to watch Sonic the Hedgehog while waiting between classes will alone make this gift invaluable.
Of course, what everyone really wants to hear about is what I got for Ryn. I anticipated this and therefore compiled a summary of the occassion. Complete, of course, with pictures (Disclaimer: only the pictures from Photobucket are real, the rest are just placeholders I found on the internets.). To expedite this process, I will list the many things that were exchanged here, today.
1. 9 boxes of
Sweethearts.
2.
Russell Stover Heart Candy Box Thing. 3. Fat Pink
Valentines Day Guinea Pig, shown from multiple angles. This gift also yielded the scientific breakthrough that guinea pigs in general are shaped like mini-vans. Awww, isn't it so cute? I'm the man.
4.
Stuffed Cat Animal. Not as good as a guinea pig, but good in addition to the other loot.
5.
Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate Squares. This particular bag contains the caramel and the raspberry varieties.
6.
Simply Enjoy Chocolate-Covered Coffee Beans. They're delicious. I did good on this one.
7.
White Chocolate-Covered Pretzels. Ryn loves pretzels, and Ryn loves chocolate. 2 + 2 = 5 (for large values of 2).
8.
Random Pink Candle. This is the only gift I bought that is truly random - it serves no purpose, as we cannot have flames in the dorm.
It is time for me to sleep, and so this post must end. Happy Valentine's Day, all of you lovers. And a very happy Valentine's Day to my lover.
Young and Out of Uniform,
