Life is a disease...

... With a one hundred per-cent mortality rate.

Lately I have been reminded of how much I don't want to have kids, and how much I prefer cats. This notion reached actual conscious-thought potential this afternoon when I saw a clearly-unhappy J'aime hiding in her own kitchen from in-laws and their little childrens. So I actually started to think ( Read more... )

Heh, unfortunately we can't support more units at this time. We need more minerals and vespene gas.

I apologize for that reference.

I am typing this through my tears of laughter!! I espcially like the long paragraph on expenses. But, you didn't stress enough the lack of sleep. Human babies do not sleep, that is a lie tolf to sucker us in. But kitties are likely to sleep 16 hours a day. Though there is a danger of suffocation when said kitty sleeps on your neck, prompt action can help prevent such things. And I love that last line about not having a yacht!! Bravo!

I am finding it hard to answer such a well thought out argument. According to your theory, there seems no reason to ever have one of these children things. I, long time reader-first time breeder, am at a loss to defend my somewhat silly choice of having children ( ... )

I certainly don't look down on people that choose to have kids! I am just embellishing my personal choice on the matter to make J'aime laugh. Although I do think that if you are going to get rewarded for every kid you have, then to be fair we should have a legal limit on offspring to deal with overpopulation and exploiting loopholes in the yacht amendment.

I think maybe a salary with a cap and residency restrictions need to be in place. I am already writing my congress people regarding the new ridulous traffic laws in VA, I shall just have to include the salary requests.

Ender's Game had some interesting ideas about limiting the number of kids you're allowed to have (in the first few chapters). I don't remember the specifics, but it was considered social suicide to have more than two.
