He had gone trough a door, to get something warm to drink and found himself going out of some ruins.
This... Looked a bit like home had before he was kidnapped by this place, with the run down buildings and all the weird spirits around. And that just wasn't nice.
"Aw, man, I swear this place is going to drive me crazy." He said aloud, without noticing that a newcomer had just arrived.

"Crazy enough to start talking to yourself?", Edgar asked in a playful tone.

Once he saw the man, he smiled a little. He didn't look aggressive or anything, so he got a little closer.
"Yeah, probably." Zidane grinned. "I'm sorry, didn't notice you were there, sir."
He knew that adding I spent eight years in a place where my voice was the only voice I could hear wouldn't be a nice way to introduce himself.
Reply
"Don't worry about it. I won't make a habit of scaring crazy people. Are you from around here?"
Reply
Zidane paused to catch his breath. "Also, it sometimes brings people you know, but they aren't the people you know, so be careful." He finished.

Edgar put a hand on the boy's head. "Well, young man, do you have a name?"
Reply
Reply
"My name's Edgar. Well met, Zidane."

Of course, he didn't even notice that the last part had come out aloud.

Yes, the man was right, but he still had a lot of aces under his sleeve that Edgar did not know about... He could see that he wasn't dangerous for him right now, and that was good enough.
"Yeah, I know. I've been out of this socialization thing for a while, so I'm a little rusty..." He winked back. "But I hope I can manage just fine."

Edgar let out a tiny sigh, but smiled at Zidane. "Pay me no mind, I'm ranting. So, tell me a bit about yourself, Zidane, while we look for a place to stay."
Reply
He smiled again. Whatever was on Edgar's mind, it was probably better to change the topic. "Ah... All right. But my story is a little long, so maybe you would like an abridged version?"
Reply
"I love good stories, nevermind if they're long stories."
Reply
This was going to take a while.
[OOC: you know pretty well Zidane's story, so let's just skip that, and of course, he subtlely skipped the wingreading, guardians, keyblades and Kuja's... more special moments. He did talk about the dreamhopping.]

Edgar listened to Zidane's story with all his attention as they walked. The youth had suffered more in his 16 years than most of his subjects in all their lives. He couldn't help but to admire the bravery of the boy.
"Yours is a story to behold, my friend... I'm impressed!" Edgar ruffled Zidane's head slightly. He did notice the smile the boy showed when he did that the first time, so he thought it wouldn't be a problem this second. "You must be very strong to be here without your good friends."
He could say the same of himself, but his reasons and circumstances were very different at the time. And this time he hasn't even spent a day away, so he couldn't really talk.
