so....i think that the pair shouldn't do songs that were designed for the 5. i'm not saying that they aren't capable, but as the majority of the group is missing, it greatly affects their stage presence. the performance won't measure up to the past, because the past was explosive and passionate. whatever they do now will pale in comparison because a huge part of that is missing. no matter who gets delegated to sing which part and no matter how well the pair do it now, it'll always feel empty and hollow for all that we know it could have been epic as a performance of 5.
i also think it's highly insensitive to the pair to do a song from their past. especially this period of their past. seriously, how would you feel singing a song that you sang with your brothers when you were heading to the top without them by your side now? it probably doesn't feel right to the pair either. i think sme's being especially cruel in choosing this song though. it was during this period that jaejoong was injured and rumors were abound of having him removed. this period was a testament to their determination to staying as a single unit. perhaps it's an intentional message that it wasn't the company that tore the group apart but the choices of the individuals. whatever the case, it seems hurtful on all fronts to have the pair perform songs from the past.
i also feel it's unfair for all five for them to perform such a representative song from their discography. it's a past that you can't just reassign parts and make better. you can't just perform the same lyrics and dance moves and expect people to only praise. you can't replace a member with another. perhaps this is supposed to be a symbolic rebirth of tvxq, but i think it's a poor decision. move forward, don't try to reclaim the past. you acknowledge it and you learn from it, but don't try to relive it. it's a waste of who you are now and how far you've grown.
i think i'm being hypocritical though. i have no issues of them performing that song again if they were 5, because it would show how far they've come as artists. like when they sing hug now it's a completely different feeling from when they debuted. i think it's the fact that they've just reassigned parts of the song without acknowledging the others of the group that gets me. you can't claim someone's performance like that, and it's not a tribute if you can't speak their names in public. i think i'm sounding like a butt!hurt fan, but i don't like the idea of them performing songs made for the five when they can't even comfortably speak about the other members publicly.
