I have abandoned having intellectual angst in favor of sharing! Yay that sounds so healthy!

1. I was with
sigarilyo  and her Kas1 groupmates last week and, while joking around, it became apparent that none of us had ever seen or remember seeing Jose Rizal smiling.

WELL TODAY! Thanks to An Anarchy of Families (ed. McCoy, Ateneo de Manila University Press, 2007) I get to safely claim otherwise~ AND YOU DO TOO!

OH BOY RIZAL SMILING (that is not a whitehead on his cheek)! From a photo from Juan Luna's studio, provided by Mita Pardo de Tavera.

2. I am amused to see Ric Flair's luxuriant platinum blonde mullet on my TV screen. Maxxx (which replaced JackTV or JACKtv) is making up for the absence of present wrestling television by selling how they have, instead, WWE24/7 and therefore, more footage of Austin and The Rock. YES, BUT DO THEY HAVE THE CAUITONARY PSAs? AND I AM NOT TERRIBLY INTERESTED IN MORE FOOTAGE OF HOGAN.

3. Stars - In Our Bedroom After The War - I find that this song manages to express the anticlimax just after the end of one thing and the excitement before the beginning of another. Fittingly, the song begins with mournful vocals with piano and is driven by a steady, pounding rhythm towards a rich, grand-sounding end. The short of it is: pretty sounding. Has also been described once as creepy but I do not agree.

4. DEATH BY VESPA JAPONICA! Between being in the AMAZINGLY IMAGINATIVE Stargate:Atlantis fandom and having dreamed of being chased by a red snake and a man with a shotgun who was also being pursued by a diamond-back, HOW IS IT THAT I HAD NEVER CONTEMPLATED AN ANIMAL-RELATED DEATH BEFORE? I mean other than some more "common sense" reasons, I always thought I had an extensive library of imagined deaths.
