On screwing around and, well, OTP's.
I really don't care for all this fic that's been flying around where everybody seems to be screwing around.
From the amount of comments such 'orgies' receive I'm guessing I'm in the minority on this, and you know what? I really don't care. I'm sure they're well-written and perfectly enjoyable if you're into that kind of thing.
Clearly, I'm not. Perhaps I'm a hopeless romantic but I like to see 'my' pairings together and not having ten other fucks on the side. Not in the least because I don't like seeing people that are supposed to be in love fuck around so casually.
And believe me; I know it's only fic. But I like my Sean and Viggo (or Nick and Greg) monogamous, damnit.
Another thing I don't seem to care for is fic that messes with my OTP. I always tried reading some of it, because I felt I was limiting myself by excluding certain good authors just because they happen to like another pairing.
However, I can't see these other pairings. I've read let's say Viggo/Orlando and whilst I can appreciate the style of writing or the story line: I can't see them romantically. More importantly: I don't want to see it. I'm not even getting into Sean/Orlando because that I just can't read. Period.
To make a long story short: I stopped reading anything that isn't Sean/Viggo.
It shouldn't come as a surprise to me though; I rarely like the things most people seem to love. And apparently that also goes for my taste in fic. It's all good though, because even though I'll be limiting myself to one pairing I do know there are some wonderful authors that write the fic just the way I like it :)
Is this offensive in any way? I just can't tell any more these days. But I'm so sick right now that I can't think clearly and, after all, it's just my opinion, right?
