"It was so bright I was sure the darkness would never find its way there, and so I stayed. But it did, eventually - it always does.

Little Suzy and I used to play together among rows and rows of beautifully carved coffins, and it was all too morbid but kids rarely notice things like death. And then we grew up, and then - and then she evaporated in thin air, she was gone, and I was left behind with a bunch of obnoxious feelings and questions, Death and its black coffins."

you always know how to toy with my dear heart, georgia, you. i love the way this part was phrased, it's gorgeous and matches the flow. "she evaporated into thin air": i love that line! and the whole playing with coffins, you're genius.

okay, not to lie, but i really loved the dynamics between the two in the beginning. it was unsettling, snarky, but you know that suzy was practically myungsoo's whole life, and the little inconspicuous arguing has a wealth more feeling of 'love' and 'care' than a sweet toothed talk would. again, suzy's characterization is off, but i love it, and once again, it suits her.

"like she had always belonged to my room, or my life, or me and once, yes, she did."
ASMDKEFAHSD?G?!??!? I'M CREY.

"I kissed her in one of those nights, and it was my first kiss - but not hers. Little Suzy, fifteen years old, wasn’t as little anymore. She was already heartbreak and teen angst in her sunny dresses and flip-flops. I was probably more in love than she was - no, I’m certain I was. Who wasn’t in love with Suzy?"
YOU STRUCTURED THIS FIC JUST BASED ON WHAT YOU KNEW I LOVE, AND YOU TURNED IT AGAINST ME AND NOW I'M IN PAIN? ALL THIS ANGST MIXED WITH FLUFF, I CAN'T TAKE IT.

one thing i'm questioning though: if she was in a river for six years, wouldn't she look a bit, well, actually, A LOT, decayed? or is she already but i just don't see it?

okay, okay, part deux (because you know just one comment isn't enough for me when you make a fic like this)

"The princess from the fairy tales I told to dead children before putting them to sleep for an eternity, sharp edges that left me behind bleeding, the colors on the walls of my house, the haggard girl crying on my doorstep, the nails digging in my skin, the whispers behind closed doors, the caskets, the dancing, the darkness under my skin, shelter, friend, best friend, love."
i really hate you. i really do. i love that line so much UGH. i love this whole fic. you're the best otp soulmate one can ask for.
and i really love the last line.

you toy with me so much because it's everything i've ever wanted and loved into one fic :(

FUCK YOU GEORGIA AND YOUR PERFECT FIC. IT'S GOING INTO MY ALL TIME FAVES.

YOUR COMMENTS MAKE ME HAPPY MI. THEY FILL MY HEART WITH JOY AND CAKES. i'm so happy you liked it ♥ it's not as colorful and bright as pushing daisies BUT THERE'S A BIT OF IT THERE, THERE IS. THERE'S FLUFF RIGHT? A BIT OF IT BETWEEN LAYERS AND LAYERS OF BITTER ANGST. AND THERE'S A HAPPY ENDING, EVEN. WELL. ISH.

if she was in a river for six years, wouldn't she look a bit, well, actually, A LOT, decayed? or is she already but i just don't see it?

she wasn't in a river for six years, hahahhaha. she ran away six years ago, that's why they never "found a body". i didn't want to make it explicit - how she died, who she was running away from, why there was so much darkness - because myungsoo didn't want to see those things, and he didn't care about them. but if you must know: she was coming back to her old small town after all those years because she was lost and alone, she got a ride with boys she didn't know, and she was killed in a car accident while the car crossed a bridge over the river (the same bridge they thought she jumped from to kill herself, which she didn't). suzy ran away to escape from the darkness that crawled into her bedroom after her mother died, but i didn't want to write those things since it was in myungsoo's pov and he blocked those out TOO HEAVY TOO HEAVY. so it's all ~between the lines~.

I KNOW THEY DO, THAT'S WHY I MAKE SURE TO MAKE THEM EXTRA LONG. it's not, but it fit just right. and there is fluff in the cracks plastered over angst but you can still see them!!! (HAPPY ENDING, YES, VAGUE, YES, MI IS STILL HAPPY EITHER WAY)

ah, that makes more sense! i thought she had died six years ago, from the way you had phrased it. well alright then! i caught the part where she was coming back home with some strangers and they went of course. i didn't pick up on that people thought she jumped and killed herself and the whole ~darkness crawled into the room~

WOW DON'T I JUST LOVE THIS FIC EVEN MORE NOW.

OH AND I FORGOT TO SAY BEFORE:
what i imagined of suzy's life is ridiculously sad. even if she actually didn't realize at all, myungsoo was all she had, too, when growing up. at the end of the day, myungsoo's house was her house, and his bed was her bed, and myungsoo himself belonged to her and her only, so willingly it bothered her. also her tattoo, love always. i think suzy never truly believed in love like he did, but myungsoo was a constant reminder that love was possible and love was there and it was real, and i imagine that - when she found herself completely alone and helpless - she thought of myungsoo and his overwhelming love and need for her and it was a comforting feeling. she loved him, in her own broken way.

OH SUZY YOU TWISTED LITTLE THING. /HUGS
