Quite a fun and busy weekend this one....Friday i went to Black Planet,
dmh bailed on me due to being tired and being down in London on saturday and
daevid was up in Leeds, so i was flying Solo and Sober, which was quite fun....I used to do this all the time in London and Birmingham as i typically knew loads of people and was quite able to wander and be sociable....Its nice to be back up to doing that. BP was fun and i got dragged onto esquires which was also entertaining due to one of Kelly's sisters having a birthday and playing with blue poi, fun pics on FB soon.
Saturday i decided i'd go into Huntingdon as i needed a few b'day and christmas things, i felt like i bought half of Huntingdon, but i was in a happy mood and things just flew off the shelves and into my bag (via payment mind). Grabbed a load of fun bits for Tasha birthday present, which she seemed to love, so that was all worth it....I love seeing happy faces opening interesting present and its nice to spoil a friend....Another thing i've missed and was part of me....i can get oddly creative at times if inspired.
So the first part of Saturday night was down the pub with Tasha and friends for her 40th, nice friendly conversation and great people, always a good thing. Then i zoomed off to Luton and the Easy hotel....What an odd experience. Dirt cheap at £35 for a double and with booking and no window it could have been £26 or with the Coven's discount a mere £20...for a double for 2 people....The bed was comfy and the room was clean if a tad clinical. The walls and ceiling are resin panels and colourful, one wall being bright orange. There is a TV, but usage is £5 extra. No shelves, bedside cabinets, draws or anything....Light switch by the bed though and is dimable. The bathroom is a pod, very like the ibis. Its clean and bright (more orange) and has everything you need. Shower is ok and there was shower gel. The only downside (apart from a shelf or something to put things on....bizarre how much you miss it) is that the room has piped air....and no controls, so the room is the temperature the hotel sets....a bit warm for my taste and the window was sealed shut too - Cheap and serviceable, but i wouldn't be able to last more than a night i guess....oh and kick out is 10am and Luton opens 11am on Sundays !
I made the coven about 11pm and Click Click were just starting which was good, they were very interesting and quite fun. Large audience too and a great atmosphere. Midnight rolled on and Russ also turned 40. More merriment and a bit of dancing. Another great night.
Sunday i did a little wandering around Luton which was exceedingly busy, but lacking anything of great interest save a German copy of
Meet The Feebles - Not the greatest being stereo and 4:3, but i believe there isn't a decent version and it was sadly lacking from my collection (a Muppet Hippo with PMT and a machine-gun, priceless). Then i dropped round to Kelly's....or Wicked's if I'm totally honest, who was cute and manic.
Sunday night was an odd affair, i meant to watch something, but ended up updating my DVD collection, messing with a UPS and feeling somewhat queasy, so i watched top gear and went to bed.
