Austria

While I'm dyeing my hair, I'm going to write a little about my trip to Austria.

I had applied a little late for my vacation (two weeks prior to take-off - oops) and still needed clearance from Mr Burns, so the countdown left me sleepless for a couple of nights.

Search borrowed his parents' car (I was bound by contract to pay for that favour in Mozartkugeln) and drove us down to the airport. On the way, just 15 minutes from Zaventem, we did however get stuck in a post-accident traffic jam. We made it past the scene (motor block lay 15m from the truck O_o) in time to check in and have breakfast at Starbuck's.
The flight was fine, I even managed to take a nap.

My parents picked me up, and thus the ritual feeding of Austrian bread (a.k.a. dwarven bread) and strong coffee for five days commenced.

I visited my aunties and their cats, my brother, his girlfriend and the dog.

And I spent a funny afternoon and evening with Pau, a friend I made when I was 9 years old. I had recently traced him on facebook, and we'd arranged to meet up in the town where we attended secondary school all those years ago.

The rest of the time was spent on walks with my parents. I love going to Austria in autumn, to sample the colours. And thus this post comes full circle :)

How beautifully leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days.
