i haven't sketched anything in a long time. i used to draw houses all the time and build my own cities out of graphite and paper. now i barely own a decent pencil and i never have time to dream. it almost feels like a part of me is fading. i never realized that not all of my talents come to me by natural gift, there are some things that i really have to practice. i'm taking this music class right now and it's really simple stuff: rhythm, melody, harmony. melody and harmony are natural and i guess that i haven't lost touch with it b/c i do sing, but my comprehension of rhythms, counting measures, knowing the duration of a 32nd note has become a little rusty. it's sad. i haven't read music in about 3 yrs and i realized that things that aren't put into practice fade with memory.
