Hola from Oaxaca, Mexico!
As the subject line reads, I am in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca, Mexico! It´s absoLUTely beautiful here and I love it! My host family is sooooo sweet and i couldn´t have asked for a better family. I have a host sister that lives here with her husband and then my host parents. I have a Davis housemate but as the title suggests, I don´t have a ROOMmate b/c i have my own room! AND BATHROOM!!! I´M WRITING THIS ON A LJ PAGE THAT´S SOLELY IN SPANISH.... HOW COOL IS THAT??????
Oaxaca is beautiful though... the weather has been absolutely superb and so has the food! i´ve only been here one night and this is the first day and i´m already in love with the food. i had fresh papaya, watermelon, and cantaloupe this morning as a part of my breakfast. i has Oaxacan hot chocolate which is LOADS better then the US´. I`ve had the sweet bread that i´ve been wanting since i found out i got into the program finally too.
HOWEVER i have run into some difficulty already because of the things you can´t bring on planes anymore. I read online before that you´re able to bring liquids so I packed my Febreeze, body spray, lotion, and brand new bug repellant on my carry on. BUT apparently you can bring them on if it´s below three ounces. LAME SAUCE. So those 4 things got taken away from me. BAH
i´m writing from my family´s internet business room... thing. like pc rooms in the US i guess. but yeah. there seems to be a lot of people waiting so .. i should get going BUT i would just like to say if any of you know about the political situation here... don´t worry about me. government helicopters go by every day to make sure people aren´t going crazy and this place is pretty much on the pacifist side so yeah. i´m good. i hope you´re good.
i´m back dec. 12 so PARTYYYYYYY then . C: hasta luego pictures to come when i remember to bring my camera cord down along with the camera. ... and find some how to put them on a foreign computer. that should be fun
