don't worry (happy birthday, xander!)

Alexander leans closer to the mirror, checking his face a bit more. He’s turning another year older today. He sighs, he knows he’s getting a little older each day. He can’t help but worry about what they’ll think of him now. He should mature, he thinks. He should stop acting so selfish and childish. But it’s a little hard for him, because life was supposed to be fun. It was supposed to be colorful, not dull and gray. He puts his hands on his face and heaves out another sigh. It’s his birthday, he shouldn’t be so depressed.

The door creaks and Kevin enters the room. Alexander looks at him through the mirror and flashes a smile. Fake, Kevin presumes. The blonde approaches his ‘best friend’ and puts an arm around his shoulder. “You’re like fine wine.” He says and chuckles. Alexander grins whole-heartedly this time and agrees.

No matter how old he gets, or how much time passes by, Kevin will always find a way to make him smile. He doesn’t complain though, he loves it. He loves it a little too much.

“Don’t worry.”

Kevin says, trying to escape the unnerving silence. “You don’t have to worry.” He whispers this time. The other looks at him, a bit confused. Alexander doesn’t get it that much, because it can mean many things. “I’ll be here. Always.”  He continues and bows his head in embarrassment. He takes a step back, and let his cheeks flush secretly. Alexander takes a good look at Kevin and smiles.

Damn with the term ‘best friend’.

The older man hugs the smaller figure close and laughs. He feels foolish again, being so insecure about such trivial things. ‘Age is just a number’ as one would say. He lets his lips meet with Kevin’s and he smiles a little more.

Alexander thinks that his life will never be dull and gray with Kevin. He thinks he can still be childish and selfish with Kevin. With Kevin, life wasn’t so bad at all. Actually, it was a little close to perfect -at least, in Alexander’s eyes.

“Thank you.”

The blonde flushes a little more and just hugs Alexander. He doesn’t say anything, he doesn’t really need to.

A/N: Happy Birthday my wonderful bias, Alexander. Just keep on being you, mmkay? We love you for that. ♥ More Alvin because I didn’t go to school today. Soar-throat man! It hurts every time I want to laugh or gulp. ; ;
