Kemaru: Leaving Chapter 1
Kevin sighed as he closed the curtains as he sat on what used to be Kibum’s side of the bed. He ran his fingers over the pillow that he just occupied while holding Kevin before he left the dorm. No, not just the dorm he left the group, the company, him. Kim Kibum had left him and he wouldn’t sit here a sulk over him! He didn’t need Kibum, he didn’t need his hugs that warmed him from the inside out, or the playful kisses he’d be given when they were rehearsing for a concert. No Kevin woo, certainly did NOT need Kim Kibum in his life, or in order to be happy. At least…that’s what Kevin tried to tell himself as he sobbed curling up and over the pillow Kibum last laid his head on his side of the bed.
He heard a knock at the door and sat up automatically, some part in his heart was hopeful it was Kibum coming back to say he still wants to be in a relationship with him. Wiping his tears Kevin let out a very shaky and almost inaudible “Come in.”
Not to his surprise it was anyone other than Kibum, Jun Hyung. He felt that little flicker of hope he had break his heart all over again. He turned his back when Jun Hyung walked in and laid down continuing to sob silently.
“Kevin-ah, are you ok?” Jun Hyung asked warily knowing Kevin wasn’t ok, but felt that asking would make it easier for him to vent.
Before speaking Kevin felt a dip in the bed and a hand stroking his hair gently, lovingly, almost how Kibum would whenever he was upset. Kibum….Kevin took a sharp breath in trying to steady his voice as best as he could.
“I’m alright hyung.” He lied, anyone regardless if they knew Kevin or what had just happened to him would have known that, so it wasn’t a shock when Jun Hyung let out a soft chuckle.
“It’s going to be hard. But all of us are here for you Kevin, we all know what you’ve just lost and we’ll be here trying to get our cute, smiley Kevin back alright? We won’t leave you like he did.” Jun Hyung said with the utmost sincerity in his voice. Kevin slowly turned around and wrapped his arms around his hyung’s waist as he resting his head against his thigh.
“You promise?”
Jun Hyun pressed a gentle kiss to Kevin’s forehead whispering endless promises to the boy while he slowly drifted off into an exhausted sleep.
Days turned into weeks, weeks into months before Kevin had had enough. He was tired of getting his heart broken over and over, with each of Xing’s original members leaving one after another. The first now ex-members being Kibum, and the second Jun Hyung. Kevin felt stupid for believing him when he promised they would all always be there for each other. He decided after months of getting new band mates he couldn’t do this anymore. So he asked to terminate his contract. Although Kevin was a great singer and had massive amounts of popularity, the company couldn’t help but feel some sympathy for the boy who had lost everyone he was close to. Forced to be with new members and act just as close right off the bat. So they did the only thing they knew they could for Kevin, let him go easy and painless. When Kevin had been told he was free, it was the first honest smile he gave in months. Saying his thanks to everyone in the company, he went to the dorm and packed. He gave a small goodbye to the group; it wasn’t emotional at all like when the original members left. This being because none of the new members really knew Kevin, they were all close through their trainee days. Kevin left the dorm feeling a heavy weight being lifted off his shoulders. He could do this! Now that he’s finally free from anything reminding him of the empty promises or heart breakers, he could move on and be Kevin again.
~*2 weeks later*~
Kevin was entering a new company NH Media (I think that’s the name). He was going to be put into a currently trainee group of 5 boys. He was excited when he entered the studio and found four boys dancing and playing around. All of them knew a new member, and the last edition to their group would be coming today. When the door opened and the manager introduced the new member, they boys were all in awe at this beautiful angel like boy standing before them.
“My name is Kevin woo, please to meet you!” Kevin said after giving a 90 degree bow, he had to make a good first impression, seeing as how he was the newest member. Suddenly Kevin felt long arms wrap around his body and for a moment he stood there confused before returning the hug.
“Hi!! I’m Alexander! It’s so nice to meet you Kevin! I’m the eldest of the group.” Xander wrapped his arm around Kevin’s tiny shoulders and began to point out people in the room. He started with a boy, who had a big goofy looking smile on his face, but it was beautiful none the less, his name was Soohyun. The second was a boy who looked scary at first glance but after speaking awhile gave off a very funny and warm aura, Eli. The maknae of the group was introduced next, Kevin couldn’t help but squeal at how cute he was, Dongho.
Counting it off in his mind, Kevin asked curiously “I thought there were 5 boys in the group, where my other Hyung?” Kevin felt the need to use honorifics seeing as how he was the second youngest in the group.
“Ahh him, he went to go pick up some sweets for the newest member! We honestly weren’t expecting you this early, it’s not bad of course.” Alexander said as the rest of the members of Kevin’s new group (which he just found out was named U-kiss) sat in a circle on the floor. They all began going around and learning more about Kevin and him the others. They listen to him sing and were all slack jawed at how it wasn’t only his outer appearance that was beautiful. He had the most magnificent voice ever! Kevin learned how Alexander and Eli both spoke English too, although only Eli was American too. Just when Kevin was about to talk about the group he had left the door burst open, and Kevin couldn’t hold in his excitement to meet his new Hyung.
“Ah Kibum-ah what took you so long!? Our new member is here!” Alexander shouted and he began to sit up, but stayed in place as Kevin shot up from the ground suddenly.
“Oh, Hi I’m Kim Ki…..” Kibum’s words were cut off and he swallowed hard at their new member. Kevin. Kevin was here. Kevin was his…new member?
“Ki…Kibummie…Hyung?” Kevin said and was more than angry with himself for letting this man affect him the way he did. He hadn’t seen or heard from Kibum in months since he left Xing. Not one stupid phone call, not one apology, not even asking the other members whom he frequently called how Kevin was. He felt betrayed as his eyes started to tear up and he stepped back until he hit Soohyun’s muscular chest.
“Kevin what are…what….the hell.” Kibum took a step forward and even stepped backed. This went on until Kevin hit Soohyun and slumped to the floor clutching at his chest start to sob.
“Kibum what’s going on?” Soohyun asked as he sat down next to the dongsange that was crumbling at his feet.
“Kevin’s the one I told you about.” Everyone stopped, even Kevin, to look at Kibum in disbelief and shock. The person who Kibum talked about days on end, the one who Kibum would write unsent letters to was now sitting in front of them, was now a part of their group!
‘This is going to be one hell of a debut’ Xander thought shaking his head as the messy and inevitable fight and possible break up of a band that has yet to debut was about to start.
