Randomity (MGS related)
That guys name is Diego aka Snake FoxDie. He became a good friend of mine. Why you ask?
It's not only because we share an MGS obsession. No, no.
Basically, things went like this: I started to hang around the MGS comm on orkut and then I stumbled across his post there. In this post he was asking for volunteers for a project he had in mind. This project was something simple, but incredibly long: trying to subtitle all of MGS cutscenes, so then those who don't know English could also enjoy this magnificent story.
Faster than you can say 'nanomachines', I added him on MSN and we started exchanging some words. I also used this as an excuse to add him, because he looked like a nice guy, based on his answers on the posts all over the comm.
So, the project started, and not only me, but other three or four people joined in. And Diego was more than excited about this.
Unfortunately, it seems like people had been jumping out of the boat a lot quicker than expected, and now there's only me, Diego and a truckload of cutscenes ahead.
I'm always insisting on Diego to pass me the things so then I can translate them too, but, apparently, he doesn't want to 'overload' me. And then, he's overloading himself, because he's trying to at least finish the MPO scenes by the end of this week, even though there's, like, 6 scenes to go.
It just makes me really sad that an awesome project like this is being abandoned by people like that. And I bet this is breaking Diego's heart as well.
What makes me even more angry is that, if you aren't really going to 'go for it', why start it in the first place?
I mean, I'm the queen of unfinished projects, but only when I'm the only person involved. If there's someone else with me, I try my best to help.
Man, half of the MGS fans in this country are total assholes, let me tell you...
Also, Diego, is you ever see this, don't get mad at me for publishing your photo for hundreds of people on the nets XD Well, not hundreds, only the one that pay attention to this blog, but you get the idea.
