Notes about Mike Nesmith from the Monkees!

These are my thinkings about Mike Nesmith (Papa Nez, for us Monkees fans!). Short and simple.

Michael Nesmith (whose mother created liquid-paper, let's not forget it!) it's one hell of an artist!

Before joining the Monkees, he already was trying to enter into the music world, because, before the music, like he himself said, he "was a failure".

The style that they gave to Nez on the TV-Show it's the father-like figure (what explains the nickname Papa Nez!).

Nez clothes were stylish too! The wool-hat was quite nice, even though he didn't like it very much. There was a green one, a blue one, one with buttons... 8 buttons, if you're curious to know. And more: the hair! It's funny and fluffy! Did he used something to keep his hair like that? And the sideburns were a must!

His best guitar solos (on Monkees songs) are from "Valleri" (Spanish guitar rocks so much!), "Love is Only Sleeping" ("Once I loved but love is dead"), "Mary, Mary" (It's... kind of oriental, right?), "Randy Scouse Git" ("And the room is in a mess" *pin!*) and "Circle Sky" (Impecable intro!).

Best lines on songs that he wrote (a true poet of love... or something!):

-Daily Nightly: Darkened rolled figures move thorugh prisms of no color
-Mary, Mary: This one thing I will vow ya: I'd rather die than live without ya
-The Girl that I Knew Somwhere: Someone, somewhere did me this same wrong
-Circle Sky: Circle sky, telling lies. Here I stand, at demand.
-Papa Gene's Blues: And now with you as inspiration, I look toward a destination
-Sweet Young Thing: And I feel that I must yeild before the wisdom of a child
-The Kind of Girl I Could Love: You've got the sweetest pair of eyes and your kiss would be paradise
-You Just May Be the One: I knew I must try to win you more than a friend

There's lots of more and some others from pre and pos Monkees era, but, I'm too lazy to put it here now!

Nez should have also smiled more often when he was young. He looked so gorgeous while smilling. But, he needed to look like the level-headed Monkee, the serious Monkee, that wartched over the others (specially Micky...).

Well, I need to say is that Nez rocks (until today)! Some of the new artists don't even dream to be on the smae level of him.

THANKX PAPA NEZ!

Don't worry! Soon, I'll write about the others! It's because I was feeling more inspired to write about Nez today!
