New Years and all that
Happy new year
I came home from my quiet new year camping to find that our house had been broken into. Nigel came back from his holiday in Europe to the same thing.
What's missing?
My laptop with all the photos I've ever taken on it
Slanks old work laptop
a dozen DVDs
Melissa's PC
Melissa's portable hard drive
Nige's katana and wakazashi
My curved sword
my heavy scimitar
My curved dagger
Nige's LCD screen
Half of Nige's speakers
All of melissa's speakers
All my jewellry except for the one ring that I was wearing
All of Melissa's jewellry
and lastly... Melissa's car
At least they weren't vandals as well.
Melissa is by far the hardest hit and she is the one least able to afford it. She doesn't even know about it yet because she is camping out of phone reception.
So now I'm waiting for the police to turn up and they have a listed response time of 24 hours because its new years...
And I was a monitor adapter and windows install away from backing up the entire contents of my fucking laptop
The only reason I can write anything is that my old desktop is more cumbersome than everything else they took put together
I think I will be smarting from the data loss for some time.
Melissa's rego is Sol 332 and its a 1990 toyota corolla if anyone happens to see it
