Because you're worth it

Dear Loliticians,
I'm momentarily delurking to say that you are all amazing.  And in recognition of this fact I made you a Coat of Arms.

I'm delurking to say that the Latin is making my eyes bleed. Maybe something like "Nos sumus invisitati, sed nos sentimus de hoc/illo." The "nos" is not really necessary in either part of the sentence. Otherwise, I love it!

I sympathise - the heraldry is making my eyes bleed, too. But it is rather pretty.

And now that I think about it, "minaces" might be a better word than "inusitati" (maybe that's a neo-Latin word because I couldn't find it). "Minaces" is also nice because it's a masculine/feminine adjective.

*shuts up now*

I think the second clause is missing the "quite bad" part of the motto, perhaps with "admodum inlaudati"?

I wonder if "perversi" might be better than "minaces," the latter seems rather more sinister than "creepy"

Doesn't invisitati mean.."not visited/unseen"?

(It's been a while since Latin, feel free to correct.)

"Perversi" looks right to me.

"Perversi" sounds better! As for "quite badly", what about a couple of adverbs? "Admodum male" or just "pessime".

Yeah, "invisitati" means unseen, which is one of the reasons I doubled back. I read the original Latin wrong. At first my biggest concern was the grammar.

(I just got out with my MA in Latin, so it's all unbearably fresh in the mind.)

So the full sentence could be "Nos sumus perversi, sed nos de hoc/illo admodum male sentimus."

Or maybe all the policies written in the style of filthy Latin graffiti. They still wouldn't make any sense, but at least they'd be funnier. ;0)

Hehehe!

"What's that supposed to say?"
"It is supposed to say, 'Let us cut public funding'."
*sigh* "So what mood do you need for your verb?"
