Travelling to and from a holiday is usually quite grim and stressful. The trip out caused
jennyh and I to leave Cambridge at 4 am, deal with the lemon sucking check-in clerk at 6 am, be rammed into cattle class for ~6 hours and then faced with 2nd world bureaucracy and queues for 2-3 hours at Hurghada airport on arrival before exiting and finding that

What actually happened: Ahmed, the lead guide, spoke with Fefe by mobile phone on Wednesday afternoon while I was with him, this was while the ship was at sea in range of a phone transmitter. He called her after I mentioned to him that I was concerned about the journey home and asked him what my insurers had said and whether they were making any arrangements. He said that Fefe sorted this side of things out. I was passed the handset and spoke briefly to her before she asked me to hand the handset back to Ahmed and their conversation continued.
In that conversation Fefe asked me to complete an incident report for her and I told her I had already done that and that Ahmed had it. She asked me how far I could walk with regard to the airport and whether I could manage to get up steps to the plane and said she would make the necessary arrangements. She said she would talk to me at greater length when she came on the boat on Thursday to go through the arrangements for getting home.
On Thursday, after a long discussion with myself, jennyh and the nurse about those arrangements Fefe asked whether they should take me to a hospital. The nurse said there was really no point in doing this unless my insurers had requested it as my knee was too swollen for any diagnosis to be made. I asked whether my insurers had asked me to visit a hospital and Fefe said that they had not.
Blue-o-two say (blue o two staff are not allowed within the airport, either for arrivals or departures)... and... At no point were ‘Extra Legroom Seats’ guaranteed.
What actually happened: The man who eventually appeared with the wheelchair was wearing the blue-O-two logo and said he was from blue-o-two. As stated in my orgiginal post, Fefe said she had requested a 'medical emergency' extra leg room seat for me and this would be issued if no-one with a more serious medical need presented. We were told these seats were available at the airport, but only after something like an hour of horrendous argument did it become apparent that money needed to change hands to obtain one.
Blue-o-two have now sent me an email to arrange a phone conversation.
