Please explain (in roughly 200-300 words) why you want to spend your summer in Israel?
Ever since I left Israel the summer before ninth grade, I knew that one day I would return. Maybe it sounds cheesy, but I sort of felt I needed to return-that my self would not be complete without visiting Israel at least one more time. I mean, I had a great time touring the country with my family and our exuberant German-Israeli tour guide, but I wanted to go back for many reasons. For one, we only were there for about a week and a half. I felt like everything was too rushed-I needed to be able to take things in slower, and spend more time in each place. So now, when I was looking through the many applications, I was very specific: I wanted something that was long enough to get a feel of what things were like, and I wanted something that would be fun and interactive, in-depth and exciting. The biggest reason for why I want to go to Israel is because I want to be able to have a great Israel experience and share it with my fellow teens. I want to meet new people who all share something in common with me: a homeland. I want to explore an amazing culture, and one that I am part of. And I want to be able to leave from the summer knowing that I had the most amazing summer of my life.
