I promise this is not turning into a music blog!

Recently I've had little time or energy for dramas. Lots and lots of work stress compounded with immense fatigue. So basically everything had fallen to the wayside (seriously, it's all I can do most days to not fall asleep immediately after I get home from work ( Read more... )

I like your taste in music. My taste is much more on the heavier, metal side or, oddly enough, on the ballads side, but I can appreciate fun music when I hear it. Oh! I recognize some of these! Mostly the OST stuff and S.H.E.--the opening song from Hana Kimi still pops in my head at times.

And people have seen Ying Ye 3+1. They just haven't gotten around to finishing it. But they will! Someday.

Aw, thanks! My taste in Western music is far different than my taste in Asian music, actually. Like, I listen to mostly grunge and post grunge (with random bits of euro pop thrown in). I find it extremely amusing that my taste in Asian music is more towards dance, hip hop, and pure pop. I love the opening song from Hana Kimi (怎麼辦). The video for that one is so cute!

Hehehe! I actually REALLY love YY3+1, though the random total plot change in the middle of the drama was a bit disconcerting.

I get you. I have this strange love for death metal and black metal (just the music, not the whole subculture some fans are involved in), but at the same time, I love me some ballads. My taste in Asian music is more along Jrock and Jpop, but occasionally I like some of the stuff from Taiwan. You know that song from the opening of Love Contract? I think that's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

I only got to about episode 8. It seemed to be going somewhere at the time, I just didn't know where it was or when it was going to get there.

I don't really listen to death metal, though I do love goth metal (I, on the other hand, was slightly goth in my teenage years... Go me!)
It's weird, I love mandopop, and I love kpop, but I just never got into jpop/rock. I know a large share of the bands (my best friend was/is really into jrock and jpop, so I randomly know stuff), but for some reason never listen to them. I LOVE that song too! But God, it makes me depressed. Anything related to LC make4s me sorta depressed, actually.

I don't remember when the plotlines totally switched, but I think it happened around episode 10. My posts on the series are not giving me much indication...

Hey, it's your blog, you should be able to do with it what you like, right?

Welcome! I have heard of KOne, but barely. I mostly know them through their leader, Gino, who was in one of my favorite dramas. From what I can tell, they seem kinda like 5566, in that they're more hip hop / rap than most Taiwanese bands.

Thanks for the comm rec! I'll have to join.

I haven't. I've listened to Vanness by himself, and as a part of F4, but not with Kangta. I think I'd probably like them though. I really like Vanness' voice and style, so I assume I'd like what else he does.

I mostly just listen to songs that are on drama OSTs- not just Mandarin but also Korean and Japanese now.

Fish Leong's song for My Queen (Mei You Ru Guo) is very similar to Soba ni Iru ne, by Aoyama Thelma. Da Mouth also did a cover of this song called Yong Yuan Zai Shen Bian. Have you heard either of those? I'm not crazy about Da Mouth because I think Aisa's voice is too nasally.

Same here. I don't listen to much Jpop at all, but the ones I do listen to are usually from OSTs. My Mandopop favorites are almost all from OSTs (with some exceptions of course). On the other hand, the Korean music I listen to are not OST stuff... It's kinda weird.

I haven't heard of those songs, but I DID hear that Fish Leong's song had been accused of plagarism, but that it was cleared up. I wonder if the lawsuit was based on that Japanese song... Haven't heard the Da Mouth version either. I wonder if I have it on my ipod somewhere...

They're not my favorite band ever, but I like them enough.

Both of those songs should have videos on youtube. You should listen!

Wahh, just wanted to say that half of the songs on this list are my favorites as well. That ISWAK ballad is really one of the few ballads that I love.

Yay for music compatibility!

I LOVE that song from ISWAK. There's another song off the ISWAK OST from Fang Ya Xian that I love as well.
