I woke up this morning (...actually this afternoon...) to an awesome unexpected surprise. My third shipment from YesAsia had come! This one contained
The Big Bang Number 1 DVD (Japanese limited first press edition). Aka, the most expensive CD I've ever bought. Why are Japanese albums SO EXPENSIVE?! The package also contained my DVD version of
Eternal Summer (the best movie EVER).
So I took pictures. LOTS of pictures. And since I hadn't taken pictures of the Big Bang The Great Concert DVD I got, I took some (read; a lot) pictures of that too. I'm SO happy with the quality of everything I've gotten. Nothing was damaged from the shipments (and they came from Hong Kong, so that's saying something). I still haven't gotten my posters yet, though...
Some of the pictures (mostly of the photos) came out kinda crappy. I didn't want to bend the books too much, so they're weirdly alligned, but whatever. Better than nothing! Also, I took these without flash, so they kinda came out yellowish.
WARNING: This post is VERY image heavy
I LOVE this package. It was definitely worth the money.
This is the postcard book that came with the DVD.
The inside of the postcard book
An example of one of the postcards. The book is HUGE, and has a ton of postcards. I was afriad to bend the book, but this was naturally opened this way. The postcards are high quality, and pretty awesome.
My favorite postcard! GD, of course ;) (sucky pic!)
My favorite TOP postcard. TOP in a suit! *dies* (Another crappy pic, but whatever)
This is the photobook. On the side of the binding (on the left) it has the track listing for the concert. This picture didn't come out well either. I think my camera was confused by the day-glo orange.
The back of the photobook contained the DVD. Those are the outfits they wore in the opening of the show. Gold sequins! Hehehe, the robot! (The DVD was, BTW, FANTASTIC. Seriously, amazing. Really good quality too. I haven't even finished it yet!)
Inside the book, the photos are fabulous and high quality. It's divided up into sections; pre-show, during show (there are sections for each member, as well as group photos), and post show. This is part of GD's section.
Part of the group section. On the left is Young Bae during his performance of Ma Girl, TOP is on the right during the opening (GOLD SEQUINS).
This is an awesomely designed CD. I'm assuming this is how Japanese CDs are in general. Either way, the case is lovely, well built. The track book is nice, the DVD is pretty cool (MVs!!), and of course the CD is awesome. It's in english (mostly). Normally I'd avoid the english versions, but Big Bang have pretty damn good english. So whatev.
This is the limited first press edition, so it's a BIT different from the normal version. The normal version is purple, and it doesn't contain the DVD that the one I got comes with.
This is the CD WITH the plastic still on it. The cover is a hologram, so the coloring depends on how you hold it.
Views 1 and 2.
The back!
The inside of the case; the CD is on the right, the DVD on the left. I was all confused which was which for awhile. It really doesn't specify.
The front of the booklet.
The back of the booklet. I like all the swirling!
This was in the booklet, it's the lyrics/etc translated into Japanese. I have no idea why this picture came out SO BAD.
First page in the booklet. A group view. I like how TOP is all off by himself to the left.
GD with the lyrics for "Make Love".
TOP with the lyrics for "Remember", and "Heaven".
Baby, with the lyrics for "Everything". Probably the suckiest pic of the lot.
Last pic in the booklet. Group again. This time it's Baby on the periphery.
I watched some of this, and I'm so glad I got the DVD. The quality is amazing. It isn't even skewed on my tv. My tv is not huge (22"), but sometimes stuff is too stretched on my computer screen, so I wondered it it would be bad on my tv. There's some extra features too! It comes with Deleted Scenes. The scenes are not, however, english subbed. I can understand SOME of what they're saying, but not a lot. However one of the deleted scenes actually made a scene in the movie make more sense. So yay! There's also cast interviews, but I can't understand them either.
But yes, the quality is beautiful. I got the Taiwanese version, so even the outside of the box is in Mandarin. Which is cool, but I totally can't read it.
The front of the DVD. Loooove this picture. It's beautiful, and symbolic of the story.
The back. It's all in Chinese. Can't read it.
I also figured out today (Don't know why I didn't figure it out earlier...) that I can play my Chinese drama DVDs in my DVD player (I thought they'd be a different format, but it occurred to last night that since they're being sold in the US, they're probably format 1. They are. Not like it matters a ton, they don't have english subs.
Oh, and here are the high quality scans of from the Fahrenheit Love You More and More DVD booklet. The scanner kinda screwed them up a bit, but they're still usable!
Keep in mind, these pictures are HUGE. All but one of them are over 2000 x 2000 pixels large (the last is about 2000 x 1000 pixels). These are just thumbnails.
Feel free to take these if you'd like. I would appreciate it if you credited me for the scans if you use them to make icons / banners / etc though.
