"The Director of the International department from the Tourism Bureau, Liu Xi-Lin pointed out that in the two years when F4 was the spokesperson for Taiwan Tourism in Japan and Korea, they successfully attracted the attention of 35- 45 year-old mature female fans. The effect was very satisfactory. Last November Fahrenheit took over as the new spokesperson and their target would be 18-25 year-old young female fans."

Why does the F4 attract the older women? It's not like they're that much older than Fahrenheit.

COMPARED!
Jerry Yan - 32 / Wu Zun - 29
Vanness Wu - 30 / Calvin Chen - 28
Ken Zhu - 30 / Jiro Wang - 27
Zai Zai - 27 / Arron Yan - 22

They're very close in age (save Arron, who is an adorable anomoly). They both sing the same basic type of music (Fahrenheit's is a little more dancey, F4's a little more ballady), they both act in idol dramas... Why the weird fan-age difference?

But yay! Taiwan tourism's new spokespeople! They couldn't have done any better, honestly. F4 is/was/forever will be(?) the pinnacle of Taiwanese popular entertainment. That being said, since they don't tour much anymore, Fahrenheit came to take their place, and they've been doing a hell of a job. In my opinion, Fahrenheit is the most popular Taiwanese band on the planet right now. What with 5566 having the breakup rumors, and 183 Club's massive loss of members, they were perfectly poised to take the lead. Of course, Bang Bang Tang, Mayday, and S.H.E are ridiculously popular as well, but I think Fahrenheit still wins. And I'm not counting solo artists (I won't even get started on Jay Chou). So yes, good job Fahrenheit! You win!

In other news, I REALLY REALLY want this. but it's $24! Also, do you think it'd be strange if I bought a huge GD poster, and hung it up in my room and stared at it a lot? Yes? Fine.

OMG a DESK CALENDAR! I might have to, as YesAsia so lovingly puts it, "Spend the upcoming year surrounded by the positive energy of Big Bang." I'm a goddamn sucker when it comes to fannish stuff.

Actually, what I REALLY want is this, but I don't know if I want to spent $45 on a DVD. But it comes with a photobook AND a postcard book! And maybe even a poster! And it was filmed on my birthday two years ago! That must means I'm destined to have it! I'm trying to save money like everyone else, but it's not like I can't afford it. I'll think it over for awhile...

Oh, and the best random quote of the day (enjoy the engrish); "Ella even had once helped her father to catch and castrated pigs when she was younger." Somehow I can totally see Ella doing this.

vanness wu, aaron yan, f4, taiwan is my soulmate, calvin chen, ella chen, jiro wang, zai zai, fahrenheit, big bang, jerry yan, wu zun, ken zhu
