Musings on Hotaru no Hikari episodes 8, 9, and the finale
Squuuueeee!!! Makoto-kun is so freaking adorable! He doesn't care that she wears jerseys, or is sloppy, or sleeps under a newspaper!! He was trying to find the perfect porch for her to drink beer on! OMG so freaking sweet! I KNOW she loves Takano, but holy crap, I'm still heavily shipping her and Makoto-kun!
AH! But later he sees her in said jerseys, and totally flakes on her! WHYS!!!?! Stop being a bastard Makoto-kun!
And I totally adore Kaname-san and Yuuka-sans's relationship! Just too cute for words!
Yays! Takano just totally hugged Hotaru! He was all worried about her! So cute! And then complained to her about her DVD late fees (24580 yen! That's a crapload of late fees!)
Ohhhhh now I see! Makoto-kun was only jealous because he saw her with Takano. I hate that! It happens a ton in dramas! The guy will get all pissed at the girl because some other guy is paying attention to her! I mean, come on!
So I liked the ending far FAR better than I thought I would!!
I thought I'd have issues with the ending, because I adored Makoto-kun, but seeing how he and Hotaru were so obviously not meant for each other made me realize just how awesome she and Takano were for each other. I always knew they were the OTP, but it wasn't REALLY obvious until the last three episodes, so I grew to love Makoto-kun, because he was super sweet.
And while I would have appreciated a bit more romantical-ness from Takano and Hotaru, I was satisfied with the ending. It was sweet, and lovely, and just perfect.
I really really enjoyed this series. It was a a nice, lighthearted show, and it made me happy. So yay! It reminded me a good deal of First Kiss, with the girl falling in love for the first time... except Mio was bitchier, and Hotaru didn't have some sort of disease. First Kiss was a really good show too! I should rewatch some of it...

I really REALLY want to watch Marmalade Boy (twdrama, not the anime, which I've already seen), but the quality of the video is so horrible (I'm talking HORRIBLE, not fit to watch, the sound is screechy, and the picture is tiny and grainy)... I either have to find another version, or deal with it... it's sad for me because I ADORE the anime/manga so SO much. It was the third anime I ever watched, and the second manga I ever read... so it's special. Plus, the drama has Ken in it! He plays Yuu!
ANNNNDD I just totally accidentally downloaded volume one of the Marmalade Boy manga... I'm pretty sure I already have it somewhere too. I have a large stack of manga in my attic... mostly Sailor Moon, but I have Marmalade Boy, and I'm pretty sure I have some Ah My Goddess! too... Kinda random huh?
