Finished Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu and LIFE
Back from vacation, and dreading work...
BUT I totally finished Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu! Dear God did I love that drama. It was so intensely sweet. My only complaint is the ending. I know it's kinda left for interpretation, but come on!
So I wish very much that they had all found out about Rui Xi being a girl. It's like the ending as is, is unfinished because of that!
I also wish Rui Xi and Quan would have confessed to each other. I like the whole "secretly loving you" theme (it was ridiculously sweet, a gentle understated type of love), but that also meant that they didn't get to interact much at the end. I wanted so much for them to be together.
On the plus side, the double eyelid surgery cover story was pretty hilarious!
In Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu, they don't make as big a deal of the dorm battles as they do in Hana Kimi. They have a thing with dorm one at one point, but they never really introduced dorm three. Until, like, the second to last episode. Oscar made an appearance, and he spoke German fairly well, considering (unlike Jerry in Meteor Garden. His german was atrocious, but hilarious, so all was well). But he doesn't wear a cape, which is sad (on the plus side, the actor is really hot).
Also, am totally in love with Wu Chun now. How can I NOT be? He's so utterly amazing.
I watched some of the Chinese New Year Special, and it's so adorable. It's like, a competition between the casts of Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu and Summer X Summer (which I have yet to see, but has Joe Cheng and Ethan Ruan in it, so I'm very likely to watch it). And randomly Fahrenheit shows up (thought not TOO randomly, Wu Chun and Jiro WERE in Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu... it's only random because Calvin and Aaron showed up too)!
I don't know which agency S.H.E., and Fahrenheit are in, but it seems Joe Cheng is part of the same one. He acts with the Fahrenheit/S.H.E. peoples a lot.
I've probably mentioned before how J-star casts shows basically ONLY using J-star people... Thing is, I don't think Xiao Tian is part of J-star, but he was in Fated to Love You, which was J-star dominated. *sigh* I wish they would cross agency lines more often. I'd love to see Zai Zai act with Chen Qiao En, or something.
EDITS!! - And I actually just finished LIFE. One really nice thing about jdramas... they're relatively short, which means I don't devote tons of time to them!
I really liked the message of the drama... you know, that noone should ever bully people. Period. Like, obviously Manami deserved what she got, but Ayumu totally didn't take part in it because she knew that she was just sinking to her level. It was nice at the end, how Manami finally realized that Ayumu was probably her only true friend ever.
Also, at the end, when they showed Katsumi looking fondly at the picture of Toda, I was so totally prepared to feel bad for him.... until he like, licked the picture creepily. Despite being horribly abused by his father, he really had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Seriously. None. He was just totally and insanely creepy and psycho.
And OMG Sonoda and Ayumu!! I was shipping them so badly!
In other news, I've been watching Cat Street hardsubbed, but I found out yesterday that it's been softsubbed.... so now I'm downloading raws so I can watch the rest of it... finally!!

I also switched my "key"... bold = currently watching, and italic = unsubbed (upcoming/unfinished/just not subbed at all...) I was getting myself confused, so I changed!
