The Stimulus was not supposed to usher in a strong economic recovery, it was not even supposed to usher in an economy recovery, it was supposed to slow the hemorrhaging to a more treatable level of blood loss.
Stop saying it was supposed to cause a recovery, and stop saying that it has failed.
It has done, and is doing, what it was supposed to do.
You don't fix a bubble by causing another bubble.
You slowly let air out of the bubble rather than letting it burst.
