20 degrees: A Heat Wave

Ok, first to clear some things up... Of course I know Nashua is not a state, and in fact it is a city in the state of New Hampshire, very shortly over the border of Massachusetts on Route 3 and 93 mainly. Secondly, I know Nashua is a city and not a state. Thank you. On another note, Sara, that Poopface comment was totally un-called for. You are mean.
Anyways, so we played in Albany, New York last night, which was sweet for a few reasons and crappy for many more. The 2.5 hour drive stunk, and the fear of being knifed was a bit overbearing. The Bald Eagle we saw on the way up was huge and crazy, we liked that, and the metalfest we had on the drive home was nothing short of classic. Norma Jean, followed by Killswitch Engage and Beloved, topped off with a few From Autumn to Ashes songs...good times. Also good times was scraping teh ice off the inside windows of the truck so I could see out my mirrors while I sweated profusely in the sweltering cab. It was that cold.
So we show up at this dive of a club, walk in, the place looks trashy, but bearable, and it smelled better than the Milan (not a hard thing to do I must say, but as we look around, there is sign of promise as we note that Zao, Mercury Switch, Eklezia, and several other prominent bands have played this venue. Then the fun begins. We notice 2 mics on stage (if you know my band, we need a minimum of 5 because of the horns, etc.), and we come to find out there are only 4 total. I'm angered, but only slightly so, as I know we can make due. Shortly following that, after we load in and set up, we come to find that only 3 mics work. Sr. Juan Diego Nelson is less than pleased, but we will make due, with the horns scrunching to play into 1 mic while the vocalists plan to share the other 2. We begin our set, rather frustrated at the situation at hand, by playing our Apology/Lion medley only to find out that the vocals are only coming through the subs and the audience can only hear muffled noises. As the song progresses, our anger builds and by Lion, we threw the mics and just screamed as loud as we could without passing out. After the song, I had no voice left, but I at least figured out the problem (it was in the amps, and I shuold have gotten paid for doing sound for the guy). All in all, after that, we played an ok set and my voice just barely held out. It was a wierd night. We played with some sweet bands, the onyl one I can remember is Quarter To Never, who you can check out on purevolume.com along with ourselves and the other band we played with, aling with several other emo/metal/hardcore bands that rock it. Anyways, that's my life. Check out the Refused, amazing hardcore band that shaped hardcore as we know it. incredible album is The Punk that is to Come. Pick it up.
