some thoughts.
in regards to harry potter and the deathly hallows, i really fucking enjoyed it. i truly think this is the best movie they've done so far aside from PoA, and i'll tell you why i feel this way.
normally, when it comes to harry potter movies, i am all kinds of pissed that they didn't throw in every little damn detail. srsly, i would gladly sit through a 5 hour movie that is entirely like the book in a visual format. what can i say, i'm a nerd. but what really makes deathly hallows work though is that THEY'RE DOING JUST THAT! they've split it up into two parts, but this way they can include more stuff from the books. true: they left some of it out. of course they did, it's a damn movie. but really, for once, i don't care. i didn't even like book 7 all that much because i didn't like the break from the daily routine of hogwarts. i found it to be rather dull and frustrating that it was a whole lot of camping and a lot of whineyangsty bullshit. but the way they did it in the movie? it works for me. i also like the fact that we finally get to see "the trio" as Harry, Hermione, and Ron: separate individuals. they have comprehensible emotions! their acting is fantastic! for once they are legitimately afraid of losing!
and while i am a much bigger fan of ron/hermione, i really enjoyed the little harry/hermione bits. the dancing was adorable, but the thing that really slayed me was the battle with the horcrux. OH MY GOD. it was like some sort of fanart manip. i'm fairly certain i've seen harry/draco done in the same sort of overshooped style. and i couldn't get over how much it reminded me all of AVPM. i kind of wish the trio had a horcrux finding necklace in the shape of G-Unit Bling. and even though the cgi was hell of impressive with the black smokey shit that came out of the locket, i just kept picturing the ZEfron poster. srsly, what the hell is even going on in my brain sometimes. idek.

walking dead- HOLY SHIT, THINGS JUST GOT REAL.
boardwalk empire- spoiler free summary: creepy fed continues to be the least attractive man on the show, richard harrow is really quite endearing, jimmy is kind of a douche to angela, chalky white is awesome, and i still don't care about arnold rothstein.
