Wow, seven straight weeks and not one single new post. That my friends
is a new record. I'm sure by now that Gwen and Kathy have stopped
coming by here and have given up all hope for me on livejournal. I
really don't have any good excuse why I haven't updated more. Just
sheer laziness. I guess I should stop the pity party and actually do
some posting. This should be long since it is covering about a month of
events, so if you don't have time to spare you may want to come back.
First up is work. Work at Target has been going pretty good and I've
been there for about a month now I guess. They mostly have me working
at the Service Desk, which isn't too bad unless I get a customer that
really just pisses me off. Even though I applied there to be a cashier,
I haven't actually worked the checkout lanes in who knows how long. I
really shouldn't bad mouth not working the register, because not do so
means I don't have to worry about speed reports or trying to sell
people Target Visa cards. I'm still suppose to try and get people to
sign up for them at the service desk, but it isn't really
required. Before school started they were giving me about 30 hours a
week which was really good come pay day. But I've had to cut back on my
hours since I will now be taking classes during the day and also since
I don't have a car and will be taking the bus to work. There is a
slight problem with my schedule right now because I doesn't seem the
have changed my Hours of Availability to reflect my new school hours.
They have me scheduled two days this week that I can't work. I left my
manager a note in her box and will call her when I finish with classes.
Hopefully they will be able to get something worked out because this
isn't my fault. I filled out the required paperwork and dropped it to
her on the 6th, so she had plenty of notice that my schedule would be
changing. I also think that because of my change in hours they are
moving me over to the electronic section of the store. This really
doesn't seem that bad and hopefully I will like it, since I do like
electronics. But they gave me a lame excuse for it though. They
basically said that I was too "comfortable" at the service desk. What
does that mean exactly? Don't they want people working working at a
position they are comfortable with so they will be able to do that job
better?
Besides work, school has started back. Today is my first day of classes
and I'm already having a small break. My schedule this semester has a
lot of gaps between classes so hopefully I can actually do something
productive with the time. I've moved into my apartment over the
weekend, and let me tell you it was hell. It wasn't that the things
were heavy, it was just that it was so damn hot outside. Moving is a
pain already, but add in some hot humid heat and it just makes it
worse. After a little moving of the furniture, I finally have my room
all together. I brought my computer with me this time since Toya wanted
hers hooked up. *Side note* I completely forgot to write that my sister
is pregnant again and has moved in with us. The same guy as last time
is
the father and it looks like this time the pregnancy will go all the
day. I have to admit that getting pregnant twice back to back doesn't
make me thrilled, but I am glad for her and will help her with anything
she needs. Since I moved on campus she has taken over my room at my
mom's house and will probably be there for a while. */Side note* The
roommates (Ryan, Charlie, and Adwin) are great guys and it seems like
we will have no problem living together. I hardly ever seen Adwin, but
me and the other guys have done a little bonding. I am definitely going
to have to get use to doing my own cooking since I no longer have my
mean plan. I now have to make my own lunch, dinner, and lunch for work.
This should be a good learning experience and motivation to actually
learn to cook. I really should learn to cook if Jeri and I really do
move into an apartment next year.
That is enought writing for now and will update later on if anything else pops up in my mind.
