*wheedles in days late and kisses your feet* Okay, first of all, forgive me for not commenting on this amazing post after you first posted it. I have been so focused on finishing the fic, but I just about died when I saw all the pieces the other night.

YOU ARE SO GREAT AND THIS ART IS SO GREAT AND IT EXCITED ME SO FREAKING MUCH. Really, as much as I overloaded my plate a bit taking on a second prompt for this challenge, I am so so so glad that I did. I had so much fun talking to you and growing this story idea and agreeing with all your opinions re: current canon. It was one of the best collaboration experiences I've had. <333

The art you did after reading the draft is such an amazingly perfect reflection of the tone and atmosphere I was going for. I actually got surprised when I first looked at this post and saw how light the colors on the original piece were. THANK YOU MORE LETTING ME DARKEN UP YOUR WORK AND BASICALLY POUR BLOOD ON EVERYTHING.

The banner image is just perfect. You found a way to represent each of the boys and where they were in this verse, but all without giving away too much. Just such a brilliant little tease of what's to come. :DDD

And then emperor!Dean with his black eyes and bloody demon blood!Sammy. Mmmmmmmmmm. *vibrates happily* They are such perfectly twisted little compliments to each other. SHALLOW NOTE: Sam looks so pretty and the way you drew his hair makes me want to rub my face in it, even with the creepy eyes. @____@

But that last piece you added of that scene where Dean beats Sam and Sam just loves him so much anyway is my absolute favorite. I can talk all day about Dean's agitated body language or all the pretty bruises on Sam, but it's the tiny twist of Sam's lip that I cannot. stop. staring at. I really liked that scene when I first saw it in my head, and you've made it come alive with your talent. I am just giddy over it.

And OF COURSE I love that gorgeous prompt and did the moment I saw it. It was so inspiring and I told myself I would only write one fic this year, but man, when this one was still up for grabs I could just not make myself stop getting ideas about it.

Worry not! I just figured it was better to lock it again until we were totally ready to post ;D

I couldn't be happier that your inspiration managed to overrule your sound logic in this case and that you decided to fill the prompt. I had SO much fun doing this! I never thought I'd enjoy drawing so much blood but I did, there's just something so wonderful about the Winchesters getting hurt (the kind of things this fandom turns you into, somehow saying things like I love the King of Hell make perfect sense!)

There was a pretty drastic shift in the colors, wasn't there? I didn't notice until I was putting up the post, in retrospect I don't think it would have felt right with all the nice relaxing sepia, so thank you for helping me darken it up!

I'm not going to lie I'm pretty proud of that hair, it's probably the nicest Sammy hair I've done so far, tousled and all! The moment I read that part of the scene where even all beaten up Sam is smiling at Dean I just knew I had to draw it and I'm so glad I did :) And even more glad you enjoyed it, it just felt like the very first moment of REAL connection.

This was one succesful reverse bang!
