I've actually been thinking about you lately. I seriously need to go kayaking right away.

Sure, if you need exercise. I wouldn't recommend trying kayaking if you haven't been exercising regularly and are in good shape. It's a very intense upper body workout. If you are just inspired to see the sights on a river or lake, rent a motor boat.

My uncle runs a company in Berkely called Echo Wilderness Company, they do boat tours of rivers in South America and Africa, I've been considering hitting somebody up for some practice maybe. My boss is always running off to go kayaking somewhere and makes the whole thing seem really appealing.

I was on crutches all last year and have been playing drums like a wild animal since the fourth grade, the upper body strength I have, I wonder if I have the stamina though.

I say go for it. You'll never know until you try it out.

I guess, per somewherebean, motorboating is a tad counterproductive.

Let me know how it goes when you get around to trying it out.

Oh no! You see way more from a kayak -- birds and turtles and other critters that would be scared off by an engine.
