I would recommend Stylewriter based on the measurably improvements it’s produced in my writing ability and editing skills. I'm sure your students would benefit too. Of course, they may balk at the cost. Everywhere I looked, Stylewriter was $150. Nevertheless, I am living proof of the effectiveness of the Stylewriter software and consider my money well-spent. Each time I use it my confidence and writing ability improves. It immediately encourages and rewards me for doing a good job by rating my prose. It assesses my "style," "sentence length," and "passive verb" content. It also points out any confused, overused, vague and vogue words used and challenges me to remove or replace them. Through its constant scrutiny, I am becoming more aware of these poor word choices and have been removing them from my writing altogether. I’ve also notice I spend more time on my writing and the time I spend energizes rather than drains me. The software removes many doubts and worries by watching what I’m doing and giving immediate sensible feedback. I really enjoy using it!

There is also a companion electronic writing course that goes with Stylewriter. It costs $75 to unlock and use for 100 hours. I haven't used the course enough to judge its worth. In fact, I had forgotten all about it until just now! I’m supposed to have been studying it. I became sidetracked by my programming studies, and the research and reading I’ve been doing on team building.

I spent waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time on this response, thanks to Stylewriter! lol
