My long weekend went well. Saturday and Sunday I worked, I didn't mind teaching the red group (kids who have difficulty standing up) both days because it was reasonably cold and the wind gusts were clocked at 143mph at the summit (a few miles north, I know). Really, I think I could do without having to explain to a group of irate parents that their 4 year olds were blown into New Hampshire and that unfortunately I am not qualified to chase them down by plane. Yeah, I made all of that up, and evidently I'm rambling again, but I did have fun. I was even asked if I could do a private lesson, which is something everyone I work with aspires to. I hope it works out.
Today was a work day by design, although I ruined half of it by sleeping past noon. In doing so I missed saying goodbye to John [Al's brother, with whom I share a birthday], who had been staying for part of the weekend. I worked on my applications on and off all afternoon, pausing to eat, pick up Mollie, and watch the Austrian Team sweep the night's skiing events (Benjamin Raich, Michaela Dorfmeister, Thomas Morgenstern, and of course, the Herminator are just too good). Somehow, I'm not at all surprised by Bode Miller's lack of performance these past few days. He's got a world of talent, but he's just not focused.
Doesn't it figure that when I get an extra day to write my chem lab, I don't even start it until 1:45am the morning it's due.
