The day M and T came over, I had brought out the trash before either of them showed up. I went down into the central hallway which everybody has to use, unless they wanted to parachute down to the first floor. I get halfway down the stairs and realize I'm not alone. I recognize the contorted shape already - it's the UNG - in his newly usual outpost. Right by the inner door, facing out to watch the kids again.
Only this time Phil is with him. Not that Phil is much saner by far, but he seems alot more normal. If I had to choose someone to be forced to spend an afternoon having a conversation with, I would definitely choose Phil. I think I'd rather hang myself than spend even five minutes with the UNG alone.
Anyway, despite his porch-surveillance camera, Phil doesn't come across like a perv. He probably is, but he knows how to at least put on the air of being a gentleman. So anyways, he's there casually conversing with the UNG - and I still have yet to figure out how he does this. I felt thankful he was there, though, instead of me having to pass right by the UNG alone and without witness.
The UNG opened the door graciously for me, also opening his toothless anime mouth to "grin" at me widely. He says "HYE?" and I said "thank you" and hurriedly ran out the door. Apparently Phil had the sense to get the weirdo out of the hallway, and stop him (temporarily) from lurking like that, because they were both gone when I returned.

Last night I get the feeling the UNG was planning a show for me and Teresa. He does this sometimes when he knows I've gone out late at night with a friend, because I think he's aware of how few people are around to catch him. So all his windows & blinds were open, including the bedroom one which is never open unless he's doing a *special* show.
We walk quietly past the apartment, chancing a glance into the brightly lit bedroom. The door is open and there he is passed out in his living room chair naked, but at least partially covered by a blanket. I guess we were able to inadvertently outdo his staying up late abilities. Thank god.
