SInce SEptember, I have been in the midst of a muscle spasm of my back. Yes, it is a hurrendously long time in MY book, but apparently, these things take an extrememly long time to heal. And I have re-injured my back several times in the meantime simply because I had no idea how to move safely.
This am I woke up in such pain that I could not stop crying. I could hardly walk. I tried, but it was all fail. I managed upright after a fashion, but walking took forever and felt like torture. Despite the fact that I have been to the doctor almost every week, I was not getting better and I didn't understand why. Mike took me to the ER where at least I would get some relief and maybe some answers.
I'm in a spasm as has been told to me all along. That wasn't the news. They took copious x rays of my spine and that one disease I feared showed up- I have arthritis all up and down my spine. Not in my hands as I feared would happen, but in my spine. Since I have had no ill affects from this before, maybe this is a blessing in disguise as I may be able to learn to live with it before it gets too bad.
