Wallpapers: Supernatural and Vampire Diaries
I don't have much for this update, and definitely nothing outstanding - but seeing how I don't have time to make more, either, I tought I'd post :)
Supernatural
Don't piss off the nerd angels
An episodic wall featuring BAMF!Castiel from 5.18. The idea was to show how the two sides of Castiel's character - the nerdy and the badass one - entwined while he was "falling" and tried to cope with his "fall" (and, in this particular episode, with what he thought was Dean's betrayal). So I tried to pick the caps that referenced both those sides of him at the same time. Particularly, the cap of red neon bar sign and the bible is there to hint that while, yes, he's still an angel, he has a lot of (very human) anger and has started drinking heavily ("I found a liquor store... and I drank it"). The cap of the book with the trophy blades laid over it has, basically, the same symbolism. The glowy hand is there to show that he still has some badass angelic mojo left and he still acts. And the main cap of him is expressive enough to not need explanations, I think. I loved seeing Cas so destructively angry, yet at the same time I cringed and pitied him. He really was "in the dark place" during this episode...

Possessed by an angel
Next wallpaper is very simple (and I am not very happy with how it turned out, but can't think of a way to improve it, eh.) It's based on one of my most favorite quotes from season 4, something that Jimmy said: 'Being possessed by an angel is like being chained to a comet'. And it features just them, Castiel and Jimmy. :)

Third SPN piece features Anna. I made it after The song remains the same aired because I was very unhappy with how her character/storyline was handled on the show. Her potential (as that of most many storylines last season) was completely wasted, IMO, and I just wanted to make some sort of a tribute.
Not satisfied with this one either, but oh well. :)

Dear Darkness
A shippy wall, featuring Elena and Damon. I made if for realmoffancy 's challenge over at BF, the requirement was to use conceptually light background. Being the sucker for all things dark and agsty that I am, I just couldn't resist twisting the theme, so my light-background wallpaper ended up with the title "Dear Darkness" :) I'll copy my explanations from the forum:
I wanted to picture these two trying to escape the world and light, wrapped in their very own little, soft bubble of darkness. The raven's feather casting its shadow on the text is there to emphasize the meaning of the words (plus, Damon sort of can control these birds on the show). I tried to give the dark part of the wall a romantic, mystical look, and give a sort of twilight-y colouring to the background.

Fun
Finally, a Damon character piece. It's based on Damon's conversation with Alaric in 1.21 about human feelings, the guilt and conscience. Damon claimed he had 'turned it off' but his face and voice were so dark and unhappy it was obvious he hadn't turned off everything. I loved that and decided to make a proper, serious angsty piece. But Damon refused to brood, and somehow my Serious Idea turned into this. But there's still some seriousness in there, if you look closely %)
