I just watched an amazing videp,
Apes that write, start fires and play Pac-Man, about bonobos. I laughed out loud, gasped, covered my mouth. It depicts bonobos using symbolic language, roasting s'mores and goes beyond all the usual
sex stuff you hear about bonobos. I was truly awe struck.
And then I read this comment:
I think we should just bring these apes into our society and classify them as "humans". Much like the humans we already have we will not set any minimal standards on them. Then as Obama said "I am my brothers keeper" we will take responsibility for them. Giving them welfare and affirimitive actions. Any failure on their part to integrate or show equal cognitive or social ability will then be blamed on "racism" or "specism". Anybody who wishes to live seperately from these animals or for their children not to date them will be called evil "racists". The apes will also be falsely portrayed by the media as "cool" , "benevolent" and "superior" (especially as athletes) even when this is not the case. Any argument for non monkey superiority will again result in an accusation of racism. The fact that they live in primitive conditions in the jungle is because of colonialism. Equality I say. We should make one a president. And every company should have one sitting on the board of CEOs. To actually judge people by their ability, or actions or content of their character rather than seperating them into groups and forcing a false beleif of equality (or sameness) would be absurd!
I say why not. Our society isn't going to be able to sustain itself for long the way it is anyway. More welfare and affrimitive action for the poor. For the rich more corporate welfare and bailouts. Soon we all will be living like cavemen. I don't think we should have any standards in society. I think a slug or a snail should qualify as human and get food stamps as well. Might as well go all out!
This I find even more amazing.
