Hat festival time!
I went to the Bridport Hat Festival for the first time back in 2012 and I enjoyed it, so this year I invited Sel and Luke to tag along. Because it's no easy to get to I drove us all down in my car...well, I drove us down...
Basically the night before I found a note on my windscreen that there was liquid dripping out of my car. There was a puddle under my car, but nothing dripping. I ignored it and went to pick up Luke in Chippenham. After I picked him up I checked my car and saw there was some liquid dripping out. It was coolant. I took it to the garage in Melksham where I bought the car and they said my radiator has gone and they'll need to fix it. Fortunately they had a car I could borrow so I went to pick Sel up in a Ford KA. A bloody zippy little car, which was a little terrifying to drive at first.
Thanks to the stop at the garage and a detour to get petrol we didn't get to Bridport until half 1, which meant we missed the mass hat photo and my chance to be entered in the fun hat contest. I'd made a hat with four clocks on each set to a different time zone. We'd only just missed it. Dang it!
Oh well, we spent the day mooching about, looking at the hats, checking out the market, getting food and drinking cocktails (though not me) at the Cocktails and Fascinators event in the Bull Hotel. It was still a nice little day out and of course the high light of the day was just getting to spend some time with my friends. Playing 20 questions on the way back was hilarious.
