Sing 4 Water

Jul 11, 2013 22:36

I've been meaning to make this post for a while now, but keep forgetting.
On Saturday I went down to Bristol to sing with my Corsham choir as part of Sing 4 Water, a fund raiser for Water Aid. It wasn't just our choir singing, we were joined by a lot of local choirs, some come from as far afield as Birmingham.

There were A LOT of people singing, around 1000 people, so you can imagine it was hard to organise once we were all together. The rehearsal took around 2 hours. On top of that the weather was very sunny and hot. I was lathering myself in sun tan lotion and I still got sunburn. Typical.

The event was in the afternoon and we drew quite a crowd. Apart from a couple of hiccups with the first song the whole thing were really well. The worst part was waiting around before it start, all huddled together in the heat. It was not comfortable. Overall, it was a really good day and they've made a recording which I'm looking forwards to listening it.

The day after that was Sel's birthday BBQ, which I'll write about tomorrow. I feel I should give it it's own post.
