[Voice/Action... second day & onward]

[The first day, his room had been just like his office back home. Nice and cozy, and made him miss it. But on day two, Mulder wakes to discover that his room is an Antarctic... paradise. His teeth are chattering like mad as he goes off to head out.]It's f- -f- freezing in here. I hope I still have all my toes, I haven't bothered to count. And m- my ( Read more... )

it's on!!!, base of the neck!, it's too much like home, not shooting things this time, chasing the truth, plot, this time it really is aliens, not a fun way to wake up, experiment, blaming the malnosso, battle dome malfunction, blaming the aliens, alien bounty hunters, now this is a close encounter, they are everyone and they are no one

How would we know if it was a shape shifting, dark haired man if the being in question is capable of shape shifting?

[An out of breath Mulder returns to answer.]

Point. Strongly taken.

Let's put it another way. If you shoot, stab or otherwise wound something humanoid, and green blood oozes from that wound? RUN THE HELL AWAY.

Green blood is generally a cause for concern, yes.

...why?

It's highly toxic, and has the potential to be lethal if not dealt with immediately. Even then, the recovery time is a bitch.

[There's the sound of him shooting something- there've been plenty of other things out here to deal with.]

...oh.

[Giles' response is...slightly subdued, to say the least.]

To top it off, there's only one way to kill them- a jab to the base of the neck. Calling them a pain in the ass is an understatement. I'm taking down all the ones I can find, but it's slow going...

...How are you faring?

[And are you in need of some company to deal with the weird supernatural crazy stuff?]

Thanking whatever lucky stars I still possess for my narrow escape.

Otherwise? It's been an exciting few days.

Exciting is one way to put it... Are you revisiting a lot of places from home, too?

Far too many for my liking. It seems that most everyone is.

...it's a useful chance to see other worlds, I just wish they didn't come with quite so many things that apparently want to kill us.

No kidding. We're going to have a... very long week, or whatever we're in for this time.

Though it's almost a shame I can't collect more evidence from the things I'm encountering...

[Yeah, yeah, he knows. There's still that TRYING TO KILL THEM part.]

Yes, it really is. This is a marvellous opportunity, if you ignore the monsters. Granted, I suppose if everything didn't keep fading away, the village would become far too crowded.

All of those monsters are hostile, too. Every single one, even those that aren't traditionally supposed to be as aggressive.

It's also too bad we don't have the ability to change the scenery at will.

Really? I haven't noticed. I just keep running into those that are supposed to be hostile or those that I don't recognize.

Too bad, yes. I'm not sure what I'd change it to that isn't here, though.

I've been trying to keep a record of what I come across. [Oh, him, still doing reports. It gives him a sense of... doing something though.] There's a lot I'm not familiar with, either, which is always a hell of a surprise.

...I can think of a few places I'd change it to.

So have I. Without a point to navigate by or any frame of reference, all I'm left with are notes. But, who knows? Perhaps we can get everyone together once the dust settles to compare notes. This really is quite an opportunity.

I can think of no better way to learn of other worlds than directly experiencing them. I plan to make the most of it.
