[No basketball today. :( But Mulder did find a cheesy little decoration for his fishtank, as well as another stack of file-folders. He'll be putting those to good use eventually.]

[He's just stepping outside and glancing around at the moment...]

[Ami could use a few things herself, thanks to having her fish from home here when the Malnosso started bringing pets, but first things first.

She looks around a bit uncertainly, as though she wants to approach Mulder but isn't sure; they haven't met many times, and she's not wholly sure it is him.]

[Fortunately, Mulder is keeping an eye out, and after a moment he thinks he recognizes her. Hard to say for him, too, he realizes that most of their talking has been over the journals.]

Mr. Mulder? It is, isn't it? I'm pleased to meet you. [The picture window to the rescue, really; she has at least that vague idea of his appearance.]

It's good to see you in the flesh, I'm not sure we've had a chance to talk in person yet. [Though considering how wrapped up in his work he gets... it's not surprising. He's realizing now that maybe it's good that paranoia forced him to get out.]

Thanks for being so willing to indulge my curiosity, too.

[She faces him directly, and speaks earnestly.] It's not to indulge your curiosity. I just think it might be better to find a pattern, or something, if we share as much as possible.

[Mulder nods, at once becoming entirely serious.] ...and that's the real reason driving my questions.

The experiments, the abductions... all of it. It all has to have a pattern to it, or maybe certain details that can help us better understand how they run things.

You say you've been taken? Only once before?

Just once. It was several months ago. I've tried to pay attention to others, too, but there isn't a pattern that I've noticed.

That's the problem I'm seeing too. Everything around here, abductions included, seems so... random.

Could you tell me about the abduction experience itself?

Everything here would be difficult to set up and require a lot of energy. It seems unlikely that it would truly be random. There should be a purpose for this much effort. We may just not know what it is yet.

And even when I was taken, I only somewhat remember it now.

It's trying to figure out that reason that's the real piece of work. To stop an enemy, you often have to get to know them... but the Malnosso keep themselves so shrouded in mystery. [Ah. He will never stop being a profiler even here.]

...People seem to have pretty unclear memories. So you don't remember anything from the time while they had you captured?
