[Mulder has more or less settled into an apartment with the things he's found so far from the shops... but that's not where he is at the moment. Too restless to hang around, and convinced he can figure something out, he's gone out on a trip to take a look at the barrier. He's even equipped himself with some camping gear he managed to find and ( Read more... )

I've heard the healing spirit is the easiest to contact, but I've not attempted it myself.

Nala, right? I would think her powers would come in pretty handy, considering this place.

Yes, I believe that's her name. There are several doctors of the normal persuasion here, but also some healers who have learned from her. You can find them at the clinic most likely.

The others are more elusive, but spending time around their preferred elements seems to increase your chance of meeting them.

That seems to make a lot of sense. Although I'm hoping that doesn't mean "set yourself literally on fire" to contact the fire-spirit.

[Okita laughs]

It would be a very direct route.

Not that I'm planning on giving it a try anytime soon, of course. I think I'll stick to Nala for a starter spirit and see how that goes.

That sounds like a good idea. It's much safer, at least.

That considered, I think I'll save the fire one for last.

[Fire used to be even more of an issue with him, but he's not about to start messing around with it even so.]

Although, I suppose if you learned how to heal first, if you had to set yourself on fire, you'd be covered.

[That may or may not be a joke. Enjoy.]

[He laughs a little at that.]

It definitely beats out the 'stop drop and roll' method of putting out a fire.

And it has a faster recovery time.

I could definitely get used to having a skill like that.

Do you often get hurt?

In my line of work, it's pretty unavoidable at times.

What kind of work do you do?

I'm a federal agent. [Oh, right, other worlds... he's pretty naturally gotten the hang of that idea at least.] The FBI is a kind of law enforcement, if you're not from my world. My area of specialty is in solving crimes with a... paranormal angle to them.
