So Dave and I were out doing our Day-After-Xmas shopping yesterday morning, and after several hours of tearing through discount mania, we decided to call it a done deal. Before leaving downtown, we needed to pick up a couple of things for Daniel, so we headed over to Bloomingdale's. I was hunting for Daniel's hankies, and having not found them, I decided to ask one of the floormen for help. I approached this VERY handsome African-American floorman, and this was the exchange:
Me: "Hi! I'm trying to find white men's cotton handkerchiefs. Do you know where I can find them?"
Him: "For white men?? We don't sell them JUST for white men!"
Me: RED FACE *Mental note: Punctuation makes a HUGE difference sometimes.... "White Men's" hankies instead of "White, Men's hankies".... D'oh!!!!!
After being wholly mortified and apologizing for my foot-in-mouth moment, the handsome gentleman led me to the hankies in question, and closed with, "Here ya go, Bro. Enjoy!"
*Hides face in hands*
