State of Me

Okay, it's been a while since I last posted here. I have been keeping busy, still taking pictures, etc. Next week I'll be at the Canadian International AutoShow media days. I submitted for, and was granted press credentials for the show! Filling in the application for the press pass, they asked for one of: press credentials, business card, ( Read more... )

I was wondering what had happened to you.<3 Welcome back!

And I think I've figured out what type of doll Fitch is ... she's a Pullip, right?

Yes, she's a custom Pullip!
She started life as a Pullip Brand New Purezza, but has been more than slightly customized, with new face-up, new hair and a Volks body. So she's a little taller, a little more pose able, and a little bustier than a normal Pullip.

Ah, cool. I've been thinking of picking up an Obitsu or a Pullip actually, since they seem more durable under sunlight than the resin ball-jointed dolls I have currently. With the strong desert sun here, I'm paranoid about photographing my BJDs outdoors. o_O

Coo! I didn't know you had bjds! What do you have?
You still have to be careful with Pullips and too much sunlight, just most Pullip owners are little crazy. Pullips are cheaper too, but addictive, you rarely end up with just one. We have 9, though Fitch is the only custom. The others are a RiDA, Rovam, Zuora, Cornice, Chill, Rozen Maiden Suigintou, Rozen Maiden Suiseiseki, and an Uncanricky.

Heh, Rozen Maiden Pullips! I've been eyeing those as of late, since they're adorable, and the likelyhood of being ever able to afford the Volks limited BJD Rozen girls is very remote. :D

My project for my next day off is setting up a new lighting rig. Otherwise, this is what I've got so far:

I'm working on getting some current pictures of our girls. Thing to remember with Pullips is that they are smaller than BJDs, only 12 inches tall. Means it's easy to find clothes for them though, Barbie clothes fit with only a little tailoring.

What we eventually want in one of Marina Bychkova's Enchanted Dolls. She only makes a total of 100 a year. Not happening anytime soon, as they start at around $1200 for her basic dols!
