Very nice! I like that you wrote from Djaq's POV and I found her to be startlingly in-caracter. I think that she definitely would be the kind of person to be a bit too curious for her own good sometimes, but also someone who simply can't turn off the desire to help people with either medicine or with words of comfort.

I also really like how you used Tom's unintentional slips to show what a good man Allan is at heart and to cement that in Djaq's own mind - something that will play a big role when Allan is outed as the traitor.

Great job! Thanks for posting here. :)

Thanks for your comment! I'm so glad you found Djaq to be in-character. I wanted to show Djaq recognizing and admitting a minor flaw in her own character--to me that seemed very much something she would do. And Tom was great fun to write! I'm glad you enjoyed the story. :)

Ditto wenrom's comments. Djaq is spot-on and the backstory you've created for Tom and Allan is very believable - sad but believable. Nicely done!

Thanks! There's more to that backstory in my headcanon. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed (you know what I mean) the bit of it I showed here! It is awfully sad though, isn't it? The poor lads! Thanks for the review!

Interesting story! What a good idea to write about Tom A'Dale, and from Djaq's point of view.
She's the one character in the show who is wise and open-minded, and curious, enough to listen to everyone without judging too harshly. I especially like the last paragraph and how Djaq gets to know Allan better through his brother.

Thank you! Djaq is indeed very open-minded and curious, but I think her compassion is what drove her toward Tom the most in this story. She's just cut out to be a physician, isn't she? And you know it was totally my intention to have Djaq get to know Allan better by getting to know Tom! ;) Like you said on the board, an "Allan-shaped hole". This is now the official name of a plot device. Lol! Glad you enjoyed!
